The Houston Texans updated more than their coaching staff in the off-season. Jamey Rootes, President of the Houston Texans says, “Every year we use our extensive research to identify opportunities to make our world-class gameday experience even more enjoyable for our fans.”
That research has led to over 50 separate gameday innovations implemented by the Texans and food, beverage, and merchandise partner Aramark Sports and Entertainment, according to Rootes. New offerings fans can look forward to include menus, merchandise, and expanded celebrity chef items.
The Texans and Aramark have made local fare a priority by making local celebrity chefs Grady Spears and James Beard Award recipient Chris Shepherd accessible to all fans. Both chefs have been available in premium areas, but now Grady’s Carvery and Hay Merchant will be found on the main concourses.
Other Houston-area favorites joining the roster at NRG Stadium are Goode Company, Berryhill Baja Cantina, Menchies Frozen Yogurt, and Genghis Grill. Bernie’s Burger Bus returns to section 115.
The Club Level has new additions as well. Chris Shepherd’s second concept Underbelly introduces the Texans Two Step, a jalapeño cheddar dog topped with Korean braised beef with bacon jalapeño jelly, served with tater tot casserole. (This combo is as amazing as it sounds, and because it is so filling, prevented me from demolishing all the items on the new menu.)
Two other newbies on the Club Level are Green Fork Express, made to order salad concept and Texan Taqueria, street taco inspired action station.
Joining the Go Texans Store and Go Texans Store Endzone is Battle Red Ladies Boutique. The lounge features stylish women’s apparel and accessories, exclusive to NRG Stadium including: Alyssa Milano’s Touched line, Victoria’s Secret “Pink” replica jerseys, and Alex and Ani + Energy jewelry.
Limited Edition J.J. Watt platinum jerseys and TORO themed items for kids are now available as well. The final addition will not appear until after the season opener. On September 9, the Texans will launch Player Inspired: Kareem Jackson Fly Guy. Jackson is the first of the players to design items for the product line. His introductory collection includes shirts and caps. Rumor has it, D.J. Swearinger is already working on sketches for his contribution.
